What is Ethereum?
Ethereum is a blockchain based open software platform which allows developers to build and deploy decentralized cryptocurrencies without having to build blockchains. Instead of mining for bitcoin in the Ethereum blockchain, miners will work to earn the crypto token 'Ether' which fuels the network. Developers can use Ether to pay for transaction fees on the Ethereum Network.
History of Ethereum
Ethereum was found in late 2013 by cryptocurrency researcher and programmer, Vitalik Buterin. The development took place July - August 2014 and was funded by an online crowdsourcing campaign where they raised more than $18 million. The first live release of Ethereum (Frontier) launched in 2015 and since then the platform has grown rapidly becoming popular to hundreds of developers.
How to buy Ethereum?
The easiest way to buy Ethereum is through an exchange. Finding an online crypto exchange which trades in Ethereum will be easy as it is the second most well known and values currency behind Bitcoin.
There are a few ways that people can get Ethereum;
• Use real money to buy Ethereum.
• Through an online exchange.

Ethereum vs Bitcoin

Other differences include block time, a Bitcoin transaction is confirmed within 10 minutes, whereas an Ethereum transaction only takes a matter of seconds.
